What to Bring to Your First Appointment:
The initial consultation with a potential family law client takes approximately 1 to 2 hours, and is completely confidential. During that time, the potential client will be asked about the facts and circumstances of his or her case. If the initial consultation is for a divorce case, the potential client will also be asked for a thorough itemization of assets and liabilities. A discussion of Virginia law and the application of Virginia law to the facts of the potential clientâs case will be reviewed and discussed.
The potential client will be given legal advice and recommendation(s) by the attorney during the initial consultation. A flat fee in the amount of $125.00 is charged for an initial consultation. The initial interview does not obligate the potential client to hire the attorney, or the attorney to take the case. An inital consult is an opportunity for the potential client to obtain information and strategies for handling his or her case, as well as an opportunity for both the client and the attorney to gauge whether a successful working relationship can be established.
Our office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening appointments are available upon special appointment. Please contact us, to schedule an initial family law consultation.
